College of Business Welcomes Thai Students

On Monday evening, March 20, the Office of the Dean of The Eli Broad College of Business hosted a reception to honor ten undergraduate students from Chulalongkorn University, in Bangkok, Thailand, who are studying with us during Spring Semester 2000.

In addition to the Thai students, invitees included Michigan State University students who attended Chulalongkorn University in the Fall Semesters of 1998 and 1999, as well as our students who will enroll there in Fall Semester 2000. Also invited were members of the Thai Student Alliance, who are very helpful in assisting Thai students new to the Michigan State University campus.

Broad College faculty and administrators present included Dean James B. Henry, Associate Dean Alison Barber, Associate Dean Emeritus James F. Rainey, and Professors Michael Moch, Lynne VanDyne, and Gary Ragatz. Mr. Roy Robinson, an educational program coordinator in the University’s Study Abroad Office also attended.

The MSU/Chulalongkorn University exchange program is in its fourth year. It enables undergraduate students from MSU to study at the most prominent higher education institution in Thailand. Returning MSU students indicate that the experience, including the academic, cultural and social aspects, is both challenging and rewarding.
