Journal of International Marketing Annual Awards The AMA‘s Journal of International Marketing annually honors authors of selected articles appearing in its pages with two awards: The Hans B. Thorelli Best Paper Award for the manuscript identified by the editorial board as having made the most significant contribution to international marketing theory or thought; and the S. Tamer Cavusgil Best Paper Award for the contribution chosen for having made the most significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of international marketing management. This year‘s honorees were recognized at the 1999 Summer Marketing Educators‘ Conference in San Francisco. The 1998 Thorelli Award was presented to Shaoming Zou, Assistant Professor of Marketing and International Business of University of Missouri Columbia; Charles R. Taylor, Associate Professor of Marketing at Villanova University and Gregory E. Osland, Assistant Professor of Marketing at Butler University, for their paper, "The EXPERF Scale: A Cross-Nationalized Generalized Export Performance Measure," which appeared in the September, 1998 issue of JIM. The 1998 Cavusgil Award is the first ever, and was presented to Masaaki Korabe, Washburn Chair of International Business and Marketing and Director of Research at Temple University‘s Institute of Global Management Studies and Janet Y. Murray, Associate Professor of Marketing and International Business at Cleveland State University, for their article, "Global Sourcing of Services and Market Performance: An Emprical Investigation," which appeared in the December, 1999 issue of JIM.
