13 October, 1999: "The Politics of the Euro: The European Union and a Common Currency After One Year," co-sponsored by the Center for European and Russian Studies, Center for Advanced Study of International Development and Center for International Business Education and Research. Elizabeth Pond, a contributing correspondent for The Washington Quarterly, and a former foreign correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor in Europe, will speak at the Kellogg Center, Centennial C in East Lansing at 4:00 PM. 14-17 October, 1999: "Strategies for Teaching International Negotiations," hosted by Duke University, cosponsored by Florida International University, Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  This is a workshop for those who want to expand their knowledge of international negotiations for use in the classroom, faculty who teach in business and 4th year Ph.D. candidates in management and organizational behavior.  Registration is $1,200.00, which covers accommodations at the Homewood Suites, meals and refreshments and all materials.  Registration forms and payments are due by September 30, 1999.  For more information, please contact Billie Maciunas at (919) 660-7837 or by e-mail at ciber@mail.duke.edu.
