| Theme: The International Business Institute for Community College Faculty is a unique professional development program designed specifically for community and technical college faculty. The institute is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, experience and resources they need to internationalize general business courses and/or develop specialized international business courses at the two-year college level.
The institute will cover the following topics: discussion of key international business concepts, evaluation of significant economic regions of the world, identification of what two-year college students should know about international business, developing international course syllabi and instructional materials and activities to incorporate international components into their courses. The IB Institute for Community College Faculty in 1997 was co-sponsored by the Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) at The University of Chicago, The University of Connecticut, The Ohio State University, and Purdue University. The CIBERs at the University of California at Los Angeles and The University of Texas at Austin sponsored participants from their region. Sponsors' contributions were also made possible partially by grants and additional funding from the U.S. Department of Education and NASBITE (National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators. Fee for the conference will be $600.00 which includes tuition and all materials, plus five nights lodging, five continental breakfasts, five lunches, one dinner and one reception. This low fee is made possible due to significant financial contributions from the Institute sponsors.
